Cyreena Boston Announces Bid for State House

Portland, OR, August 20, 2007- Now that Cyreena Boston has announced her run for the Oregon House, District 45 has a unique opportunity to keep its energetic and effective leadership in Salem. In the coming May Primary Election, the voters in HD 45 will have a chance to elect one of its own.

The Parkrose native stated, "As a resident in the Sumner neighborhood, I see how the lack of affordable housing, crowded schools, and health and safety issues challenge our friends, families, and neighbors everyday. I am running to solve these issues through collaborative and progressive law making."

Parkrose Native Cyreena Boston Files To Run For House

Portland- Cyreena Boston grew up in Northeast Portland. At age 10, she kicked off her political career with the Portland Organizing Project. Today she formally filed paperwork to run as a Democrat for House District 45 in the 2008 Election.

Recently quoted in the Skanner newspaper Senator Margaret Carter said Boston is "a deserving young woman who will be able to make a difference."

Boston, 27 is the former Constituency Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon. After graduating from Spelman College, Boston returned home where she worked to expand emergency services, and encouraged civic involvement through voter registration programs, particularly in the Sumner neighborhood where she lives.
